A long-simmering power struggle boiled over on February 24th, 2020, when Dr Mahathir Mohamad unexpectedly announced his resignation as Malaysia's Prime Minister. His decision prompted members of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, or better known as Bersatu to pull out of the ruling Pakatan Harapan coalition en masse, along with nearly a dozen members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat or PKR. The mass exodus led to the collapse of the 2-year-old government under the weight of internal rivalries and plunged the country into a deep political turmoil.

Deep in the Belum Temengor forest complex in the state of Perak, Malaysia is the Belum Rainforest Resort, a premier ecotourism destination in the region. If was an amazing experience working in the deepest of rainforest, with a full film crew, shooting on Arri Alexa for 7 days straight.
This Red Bull campaign took me to remote Nepal, 12 miles shy of the Tibetan borders where we shot the bungy jumping scene. It's a 200m drop from the suspension bridge to the river down below and our brave talent, Janell did several of those jumps back to back and we managed to get it all in one day. The rest was shot around Kuala Lumpur's majestic train station office and at Batu Caves, just outside of the city.

I had the opportunity to shoot the Monsoon Cup, the last leg of the prestigious Alpari World Match Racing Tour 2013 in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. It was an amazing experience working with an international crew of professionals in what is essentially the premier sailboat racing tournament in the world.

Liga Layar is Malaysia's most prestigious sail boat racing league, which is a part of the government's initiative to capilatize on the Monsoon Cup and train local talents to go into the sport professionally. The final stage of Liga Layar coincides with the Monsoon Cup, and I was there to shoot it through the heavy monsoon rain.
Razak School of Government is set up by the Prime Minister as an institution to better train and prepare civil servants to face the challenges of this century. We shot this in Semenyih, Putrajaya and Port Dickson.
As part of the 2013 General Election, Parti Keadilan Rakyat launched apps for smartphones to better disseminate their election campaigns and easier for the public to follow campaign schedules. We made this simple introduction video in the style of app introduction videos to accompany the launching of the app itself.
